I asked Chat GPT, Copilot and Gemini for issues affecting Windows and Apple computers, there were a lot, see the second table below. Since both systems can give problems a good backup is recommended.
My current experiences have been with online storage synchronization. Storage options with Onedrive and Google drive are not always clear, is it on my computer is it on the cloud or both and what folder is it stored on, Icloud is also in the mix.
All backups are good but the companies managing it could do a better job of making the options clear, it often seems that they’re happy for you to upload everything so they can charge you when you’re over their limit. Another option would be to buy a NAS for local storage. The easiest to use and most versatile system is Synology DS223J 2-Bay or Synology 2-Bay NAS DS223, provides local storage accessible from anywhere and a 2 disk raid system and too many other features to list.
